Acid Reflux

My son had severe acid reflux from birth. We tried everything. Prevacid helped a little but he was still vomiting three or four times a day and you could hear the bubbling sound in his throat. One day I was talking to a women in the store and she told me the only thing that cured her son's acid reflux many years ago was "goat milk". I thought it sounded strange but at this point I was willing to try anything. The long term effects of acid reflux are devastating. I looked around every store in town and could not find the cartons only cans that you mix with water. One day I was in Kirksville, Mo at the Walmart Supercenter and I found it. It was expensive. Around 3.50 for a quart. I bought a few to try and it worked like magic. One week later my son's acid reflux was completely gone. I took him off of the prescription medication and he was fine. About a year later I tried regular milk again and found out he was lactose intolerant. He had severe diarrhea for two weeks. The doctors couldn't figure it out and then I realized it was most likely the milk. I hadn't noticed any vomiting or acid reflux symptoms which is the only thing I was looking for. But as a child gets older it's harder to see symptoms of acid reflux and if they can't tell you it's even worse. So I took him off the milk went back to goat milk and he was fine. Later on down the road I switched to Lactaid because it's cheaper and it seemed to work well with him but I would start out with the goat milk if you have a child with severe acid reflux.
